General Officers Application Cycle Announcement

The first application cycle for General Officer Candidates will begin on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026, and end on June 10th, 2026. Vetting will begin June 4^th and end June 12^th, and interviews will take place June 17th, in person, at The A.M.E Zion Corporate Headquarters. Charlotte, North Carolina. All Candidates who meet the requirements for the first cycle will be eligible to begin campaigning during the Connectional Council. The 2^nd application cycle will begin on November 1^st and end on November 30th. Vetting will occur December 1^st through the 15th, and interviews for Candidates will take place at a date between January 4^th and 29^th, 2027.

Candidates who meet the requirements for the second cycle will be eligible to begin campaigning during the Board of Bishops' Winter Meeting. NO candidate will be able to campaign until the vetting and application process has been completed within the specified dates. There will be one final General Officer cycle in the first quarter of 2028, not later than 120 days prior to the 53rd General Conference.
