Official Statement from Livingstone College on the Passing of Gabriella Muñoz

 

While Livingstone College's official statement honoring Gabriella's life remains our primary communication, we are aware of inaccurate reports circulating online regarding the circumstances of her passing. To ensure the accuracy of information shared with our community, we wish to clarify that Gabriella did not pass away on the Livingstone College campus. She passed away while in Texas, away from campus. Any reports stating or implying otherwise are false.

 

This is an incredibly difficult time for Gabriella's family, friends, teammates, coaches, and the entire Livingstone College community. We respectfully ask that the public refrain from sharing unverified information or engaging in speculation that may cause additional pain to those who are grieving.

 

"It is difficult to understand the insensitive actions that some will take during this time of our campus community grieving. Gabriella was a Blue Bear and will always be a Blue Bear," said President Anthony J. Davis. "Our focus remains on honoring Gabriella's life, celebrating her many contributions to our campus community, and supporting all who are mourning this tremendous loss."

 

We extend our continued prayers and deepest condolences to Gabriella's family and loved ones. We ask our community and the public to respect their privacy and rely only on official communications from Livingstone College regarding this matter.

Livingstone College is deeply saddened by the passing of student-athlete Gabriella Muñoz, a rising junior from Katy, Texas, and a cherished member of the Blue Bear softball family.

Gabriella was known for her kindness, infectious smile, team-first spirit, and unwavering dedication both on and off the field. A standout student-athlete, she earned Dean's List honors during both semesters of the 2025–2026 academic year, maintained a 3.75 cumulative GPA, and was a Livingstone College Board of Trustees Scholarship recipient.

 

"Our program will miss her immensely, and her absence will be felt," said Head Softball Coach Steve Wallace.

 

President Anthony J. Davis and the entire Livingstone College community extend their heartfelt condolences to Gabriella's family, friends, teammates, coaches, and loved ones as they mourn this tremendous loss.
