The Board of Trustees is keenly aware of the financial challenges Clinton College is currently facing. We recognize the emotional toll, and we apologize for the financial impact this has had on our faculty, staff, and their families.
Clinton College is a 132-year-old institution in the Rock Hill Community, and we, as the board of trustees, are committed to restoring financial stability and ensuring the long-term success of our college.
We recognize the sacrifices our staff and faculty have made; they are why this college celebrates so many high achievements. We appreciate their patience with the Clinton administration to rectify this situation. The Board of Trustees supports our president, Dr. Wilks, in getting the college through this difficult time and returning to financial stability as quickly as possible.
We continue to work closely with the College administration and expect these current challenges to be rectified. We are working for the long-term success of Clinton College.”
Again, we are deeply concerned by how this situation impacts every college employee and their families. Our employees have been remarkably patient, and we are working tirelessly to ensure they are fully compensated. Clinton College remains committed to educating students at a time when many educational institutions are reeling with economic challenges. In our 132-year history, we have seen our share of turbulent times, but there is an insatiable Golden Bear spirit and Clinton College dignity that will not let us give up even in challenging times.
Because of the faithful support from our alumni, the Rock Hill community, corporate partners, the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, and contributions from friends of Clinton from across the country, Clinton College has remained a beacon of hope, sharing the light of knowledge, graduating a generation of students who have gone on to achieve and excel in all walks of life. The education of our students remains our highest priority. The Board of Trustees is committed to solving this present situation alongside our administration, to make sure our Dear old Clinton College is on a firm financial footing, as we prepare for the upcoming academic year."
